Midsummer Lemon Cake

(Deutsch) I forgot what the questions was but I remember that the answer was lemons! A good lemon cake has to have are a beautifully balanced mix between sweet and sour. Unfortunately many recipes don’t, so what you get is a cake that is disgustingly sweet with a hint of lemon. But today we won’t settle for that! This summery lemon cake with the beautifully easy-to-make bunting decoration is made with marzipan and a fresh cream cheese icing. It’s an acrobat that masters the fine line between sweet and sour and is ready to run off with a circus. Porridge with berries

(Deutsch) Porridge sounds a lot better than oatmeal gruel. When traveling through New Zealand with my friend, I bought a two-kilo packet on the first day. As we had a car I could easily take it with me and I would make porridge every other morning. Firstly, porridge is delicious and nutritious and secondly it is cheap. If you are on a spontaneous vacation like a six-week trip through New Zealand it might be a bit ridiculous to say that’s where I started saving some money, but I did. So I had porridge one day and pancakes the other day and this is probably why all days where awesome – cause that’s how they started.

Vegetarian Quiche

(Deutsch) Our family celebrations are always the place to be if you like good food. My aunt makes the world’s best cherry-crumble-cake, my cousin bakes an amazing cheesecake and her nephew makes a kick-ass lime tart. This is why I decided to make something savoury this time. My family looked at me like I had gone mad when I presented it as I normally do sweet stuff.

Chocolates with raspberry filling

(Deutsch) I treated myself to some new equipment again this week. A mould for chocolate squares by Birkmann. What I really liked about it is that there is a tiny square on top of it that I can fill with coloured chocolate to tell the fillings apart. I was very pleased with the result and can highly recommend that silicon mould. Also, it is only about a tenner and can go in the dishwasher…. I mentioned that before, right?
